Local Attractions:
Changing Guard at
Buckingham Palace takes place everyday at 11:30am from May to
July, and from August to April the ceremony takes place at the
same time but on alternate days.
Big Ben & The Houses of Parliament are the UK's seat of power and
contain the House of Commons and The House of Lords. Big Ben
dominates the northern end of the building, the huge clock that
Londoner's set their watches by.
Westminster Abbey is an architectural masterpiece of the
thirteenth to sixteenth centuries, and presents a unique pageant
of British history - the Confessor’s Shrine, the tombs of Kings
and Queens, and countless memorials to the famous and the great.
It has been the setting for every Coronation since 1066 and for
numerous other Royal occasions.
St James's Park is excellent for views of Buckingham Palace to the
west and Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament to the east.
Green Park just off Piccadilly is a prime place to hire a deck
chair and take it easy for a while.
