Hugely
welcoming and warm-hearted with professional service, this grand
four star deluxe hotel was once the 'Vanderbilt family' residence
in South Kensington. The Radisson Edwardian Vanderbilt hotel is located close to Earls Court and
Olympia Exhibition centres, Knightsbridge, Natural History Museum
and the Victoria & Albert Museum. The Royal Albert Hall, Harvey
Nichols, Harrods, Kensington and Buckingham Palace and endless
bars and restaurants are also close by. Enjoy listed roaring open
fires, carefully restored original features, new artwork and the
sumptuous furnishings. As well as a fitness room, selection of
conference rooms and a business centre.
This Victorian town house was the former grand home of the
Vanderbilt family and still retains many of its grand features
from the stain glass windows to the elegant and decorative painted
ceiling which greets you as you enter the hotel.
Guest Rooms:
Bedrooms at the Radisson
Edwardian Vanderbilt have a warm English country house ambience with mahogany
furniture, rich fabrics and crisp cotton bed linen. Bathrooms are
clad with Sicilian marble and Jacob Delafon bath ware. All are air
conditioned. Access to the bedroom floors is by room key only.
Advanced guest technology includes satellite television, modem
connection, international sockets and all features expected in a
four star deluxe property. Designer suite with unique furniture
and fabrics and separate seating area for you to unwind in. Relax
with Bose sound system and DVD player. Each room features modem
connection, European plug sockets, advanced telephone systems with
your own personal telephone number and voicemail. 'In hotel'
mobile phones are available on request. Deluxe rooms provide extra
work space, additional lighting and ergonomically designed chairs.
The Restaurant:
Located in South
Kensington arrange to meet and dine at the 68-86 bar & restaurant
with its striking cracked glass bar, and enjoy a drink while you
make your selection from the menu. Head Chef, Lahdi Rouanne, has
created a fusion of the best of British cooking with influences
from the Pacific Rim. The smart restaurant is a design classic in
contemporary colours with wooden floors and unusual objects d'art.
Groups & Meetings:
The Radisson Edwardian
Vanderbilt has 9 air
conditioned function rooms, which host stylish events for up to
100 guests. The Vanderbilt is perfectly located for delegates and
business travellers. For a touch of English tradition the wood
panelled Vanderbilt Suite is luxurious and elegant with its
stained glass windows offering a perfect venue for intimate
dinners or boardroom meetings. All meeting rooms are equipped with
the latest presentation and communication technology and our
dedicated staff will ensure that your event is a success.
Local Attractions:
Chelsea, Kings Road,
Natural History Museum, Victoria & Albert Museum, Science Museum,
Knightsbridge and Harrods, Hyde Park, Kensington Palace and
Gardens, Royal Albert Hall and Memorial, Sloane Street haute
couture. Harrods is best experienced shortly after it opens. Of
all the attractions, the greatest is probably the food hall - the
finest food in the world, begging to be eaten - a great place for
gifts that people actually want too. The V&A is the quietest of
the great museums. When the Liebskind extension is built it will
be swarming with visitors, so visit now and go straight to the
cast room - it's like a Piranesi drawing come to life. Get a cab
to the Grenadier Pub on Wilton Row in Belgravia. Low key it may
be, but it's also extremely well heeled with beautifully plain
cooking, good beer and famous Bloody Marys. Guard officers and
minor Royals used to love it and Madonna still does.
