The Champs-Elysees has been named the most beautiful avenue in the world and runs from La Place de la Concorde to the Arc de Triomphe. Almost always swarming with people every season, it is magical by day and night.
- The Eiffel Tower and the Champs de Mars:
The Eiffel Tower is one of the best known and most visited monuments in the world. A mere 10 minute walk from the hotel, you really ought to go and see this emblem of Paris, which dates from 1889. Opening hours: 9.30 a.m. to 11.00 p.m. – Rates: from 4 to 11 euros.
- Les Invalides: Napoleon’s tomb
Le Musee de l’Armee was founded in 1905 within the prestigious Hotel National des Invalides - a universal exhibition brought together the Le Musee de l’Artillerie (1796/7) and Le Musee historique de l’Armee, which was created 100 years later. A 5 minute walk from the hotel.

- Saint-Germain des Près:
This district is generally associated with artists and intellectuals of all sorts. Since the 1920s the St Germain district has been the meeting place for students, artists and writers from the Left Bank. The district became very fashionable, especially due to the American press, who was delighted to discover that Jazz, an American style of music, was very much held in high esteem in the City of Lights, in fact more so than where it originated.

Coming from motorway A1, take the exit at Porte de la Chapelle, then go on to the west ring-road. Exit at Porte Maillot. Follow the signs for Avenue de la Grande Armee until you reach Place d’Etoile (Arc de Triomphe). Go down Avenue d’Iéna and turn left into Rue Jean Giradoux. The property is at number 5.
- By Plane: 30–60 minute journey, depending on which airport
From Roissy-Charles de Gaulle, take Roissybus to Charles de Gaulle-Etoile, then take Metro line 1 to Franklin D Roosevelt, then line 9 to Alma Marceau.
From Orly, take the Air France bus to Gare Montparnasse, then Metro line 6 to Trocadéro, followed by Metro line 9 to Alma Marceau.
- By Train: 20-45 minutes, depending on the station
From Gare du Nord and Gare de l’Est, take Metro line 4 going to Porte d’Orléans, get out at Strasbourg Saint-Denis. Change to line 9, going to Pont de Sèvres and get out at Alma-Marceau.
From Gare de Lyon, take Metro line 1 going to La Défense and get out at Franklin D Roosevelt. Change to line 9, going to Pont de Sèvres and get out at the first station Alma-Marceau.
